In Umred, both legend and myth say, that even the leaves on the hardy Saag trees, as they make their final journey toward the earth, whisper stories about the tiger. The wind and the rain, the earth and the water, all tell legendary tales about tigers who have lived and died in this compact piece of wilderness. Umred is just for the tiger, there's no beating around the bush on this, for each bush can have a hidden tiger here! ;)
Jai the legend, many years back, famously migrated from Nagzira to Umred. This incredible journey of over a hundred kilometers brought Umred on the wildlifer's map!
Jai may not be seen anymore, for none of us heard of him after the harsh summer of 2016, but his descendants sure do! While dense woods envelop the land, a number of natural and artificial waterholes give a welcome respite to the animals. Tigers and the occasional leopard can be seen at these waterholes or when they cross the safari tracks for water. Having a below-average population of herbivores, there are hardly any alarm calls happening in Umred and hence the incredible knowledge of our local guides and drivers and the information from the previous safari shall all come together to give us a great chance of spotting a tiger! Their gut instinct, keen Big Cat behavioral knowledge and unbridled passion would ensure that you get sightings and photographs to cherish for a long, long time to come!
On this epic wildlife camp, we will lead the 4-safari tour through the beautiful landscape of Umred's Gothangaon, Pauni and Karhandla ranges.
